It’s the smash hit that won the Pulitzer Prize and an Academy Award. The time is 1948, in the deep South, and crusty old white widow Daisy has just demolished another car. When her son hires a soft-spoken black man named Hoke to be her driver, Daisy initially regards him with disdain. But in a series of scenes spanning 25 years, we see them grow ever closer, and it’s soon movingly clear that both have more in common than they’d ever admit. It’s a total delight that’s worth the drive from anywhere!
